Isabel Uriate is a women with great intentions. She is not only focused on helping the farmers of peru, but she is especially focused on the women farmers of Peru who are often mistreated and abused in the work place. Not to mention they are paid close to nothing, forcing them further and further into poverty and making it impossible to prosper. To help solve this issue of poverty Isabel knew they had to cut out the middleman and sell directly into the markets, allowing them to make much more of a profit for all of the people working the farms. These people are the first to participate in the "Cafe Feminino" program, which is spanish for "Feminine Coffee". This program was designed to empower the women that work in the coffee fields and provide better opportunities not only for them but for their entire community as a whole.
This program looks much further than just giving women workers a better pay. It looks deeper into their lives and other problems they might have at home. Keep in mind most of these problems like malnutrition, and bad education were brought on because of the fact that they were being payed so little money. Isabel has made it her mission to education these women about good health and bring about better education to these communities.
